  • Construction is Proceeding South - posted on August 06, 2019

*Construction will proceed down the west side of Gilbert Road. At various times roads connecting to Gilbert Road will need to be closed. There will also be sidewalk closures. On-site signage will offer more details about dates and detours. Each closure is expected to last no more than 4 weeks. Closure dates are subject to change.

  • Potential for overnight noise and traffic impacts - posted on July 19, 2019

Over the next month the work zone will move into the intersection of Gilbert Road and Granville Avenue. Work at this location is expected to take two months.

    Storage Tanks & Overnight Generator

Starting as early as July 22, water storage tanks will be placed along the South side of Granville Avenue, indicated on the map with the orange line. As part of this work, a generator will be required to run overnight pumps for approximately six months.  Please see the blue box on the map below indicating the approximate location of generator (in the road median). Crews will make additional efforts to reduce noise impacts to local residents and businesses.

    Traffic Impacts

The map shows the initial traffic flow changes at the Gilbert Road and Granville Avenue intersection. There will be traffic delays and turn restrictions in the intersection, and these will change as work progresses.

Please use extra caution near pedestrian areas and follow posted signage and the directions of traffic control personnel.

Access will be maintained to the Minoru Centre for Active Living and Brighouse Fire Hall.
